The Crystalyte Sparrow Electric Bike Conversion Kit (bicycle not included) adds “power on demand” to your pedal bike. Once your bicycle is converted to electric, you can ride it like a regular bike, move by 100% electric motor power, or any combination of the two. Sparrow is the entry level Crystalyte kit. It's similar to the RoadRunner Electric Bike Kit, but powered by a simpler brushed motor. Brushed motors are less expensive than brushless, but also less efficient and as the brushes wear out there is a reduction in range. Motor brush life expectancy is between 2500 and 3000 miles - 2 to 6 years for most people. The Sparrow is also wound more for speed than torque. If you’re riding on paved roads over flat terrain with some small hills and your main interest is speed, the Crystalyte Sparrow is the electric bicycle kit for you. Sparrow kits are also a less expensive, lower power version of the Phoenix kits. While less powerful, they're still a force to be reckoned with! The 4825 Sparrow kit delivers an awesome 1.6 hp and moves you along at speeds of up to 23 mph. Sparrow kits make up for the lower power with a substantial range advantage over the higher watt Phoenix electric bike kits. The Sparrow can be customized to fit your needs. You choose the power output (4825 or 3625 system), throttle type, rim size, rear or front wheel drive, cruise control/brake inhibit option and the bicycle you want to put it on. The kit comes pre-wired and is simple to install. The electric bicycle classification means you can operate it without a driver's license, registration or insurance in most states (check local laws before purchase). The Sparrow is a fun way to avoid the price at the pump. They’re also environmentally friendly, quiet and cost only pennies a day to charge.

• Motor: Brushed hub motor.
• Drive System: There are no belts, chains, sprockets, gears, or pulleys. The electric motor is directly connected to the hub of the wheel
• Charge Time: 3-5 hours.
• Rim: Your choice of a 16" single walled, or a 20", 24", or 26" double walled rim
• Throttle: Your choice of a half-twist, full-twist or thumb throttle. If your bike has twist shifters, choose a thumb throttle.
• Cruise control (optional): Set a speed and release the throttle. The cruise control works just like the one in your car.
• Brake inhibit (optional): This safety feature triggers when you engage the brakes. It makes the throttle inoperative and turns off the cruise control.
• Crystalyte Warranty: Batteries: 6 months, Motor: 180 days, Charger: 30 days, Controller/Throttle: 90 days.

You mount the wheel, throttle, cruise control, rack or basket, and power bag, push together the connectors, and ride.
